HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have been truly blessed this year. We have a GREAT family and are so grateful for all the time we spend with them. We got the greatest blessing of all in October when our beautiful grandson BRANSON was born. We love him beyond words and look so forward to each time we get to see him.

The kids are all doing great and are all so happy in their lives and that makes us happier than anything else.

We wish all of the best for everyone in the NEW YEAR and look forward to a great and wonderful 2009!

Today is the first day ever in our 27 years of married life that we didn't have kids home on Christmas morning. It was WEIRD to say the least. Just Glen, myself, Roxy and Buddy celebrated Christmas this morning. We watched Roxy open her monkey toy and Buddy dig into his stocking for his doggy treats and then Glen and I exchanged gifts. Kandice and Josh were able to come up this afternoon and have dinner and watch a movie. It was a very quiet day and we enjoyed their company so much. It is so important to have family around this time of year and we sure missed the other kids. It was a GREAT day and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and we truly are blessed.

Then when it came time for Kandice and Josh to leave tonight, this is what we found out the front door. It was raining at 5:30 and by 8:00 this is what it looked like. It took them an hour to get home but we are sure glad they got home safely!

Christmas Eve is traditionally the party at Grandma and Grandpa Porter's house. We have great food, great visits with family and the kids all have a wonderful time. We went alone this year as all our kids were sick with the flu/cold/yucky stuff I have had all week long. We had a great time. The weather cooperated and we were very happy for that!

We had a Christmas party with Glen's mom and family on Saturday night. We were so glad to have all the kids there, except Jade who had to work. We missed having Jade there, but we were thrilled that Brittiney brought Branson though. He got to sit on Santa's lap and we all had a good time.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas to all ... we have had a fun-filled couple of weeks and many Christmas celebrations. We had Christmas last weekend with our kids and exchanged gifts with them. It ended up being a very fun afternoon (as it is any time I get to see my kids). Chelsie and Brian were home from Twin Falls for the weekend so we were able to squeeze time out of everyone's busy schedules to get together. The kids gave Glen a gift card to Best Buy to go towards a turntable so he can record his MANY albums to the computer. The kids gave me an AWESOME set of Paula Deen pans. I seriously have had the same set of pans for the past 20 years and needed some new ones pretty badly! I appreciate them so much. We are so blessed with such great kids and can't see them often enough, especially during the holidays.

I am new to this blogging world and really need my daughter to help me out. I am just trying this out as I think it is such a cool way to keep others informed of what is going on in our lives (although our lives are relatively boring)! I will post more later when I learn what I am doing, if I learn what I am doing!!

In the meantime, this is the great man I am married to and his beloved Roxy. You will notice that they have matching shirts!
